Supervisors
The Rev. Tom Powell is the Director Spiritual Care at Oliver Lodge, a position he has held since 2007. He also supervises the CPE program centered in the Long Term Care facilities of LutherCare Communities, sherbrooke Community Centre and Oliver Lodge. Tom was in pastoral ministry in Saskatchewan for 23 years before beginning his CPE journey. That journey has provided him with experience at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre and at acute care hospitals in Ottawa and Calgary. Tom is a certified Specialist in Pastoral Care and a Teaching Supervisor (CPE) with the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education, and for the past few years has been Adjunct Faculty at St. Andrew’s College.
The Rev. Brian Walton is the Spiritual Care Educator at St. Paul's Hospital, a position he has held since December of 2004. Prior to this move Brian offered CPE through St. Martin's United Church where he served as pastor for 15 years. Since his ordination in the United Church in 1977, Brian has worked in parishes, chaplaincies, counselling centres and the seminary. He completed an STM in Pastoral Counselling and has particular interest in Bowen Family Systems Theory. Brian is a certified Teaching Supervisor (CPE) with the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education and Adjunct Faculty at St. Andrew's College.
